No ! The NULLODOR litter granules can be likened to wet sand when in contact with urine , but as the water evaporates the granules separate. This is why it is important to mix the granules each day. They do not stay as a lump or gel. They simply absorb the humidity which then evaporates, and its power of absorbtion is greater than normal cat litters.
